PACK Mentality + PBIS

Develop a PACK mentality. Persistent, accountable, connected, kind. You are an important part of our pack at Mountain Green Timberwolves.

Here at MGMS we encourage students to develop something we call a “PACK Mentality”.  Each student is a very important part of our pack and we like to reward positive behavior when you get caught being: persistent, accountable, connected, and/or kind.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, also known as PBIS, is an evidence-based framework for developing positive behavior in a school environment. Schools use it nationwide to create a positive climate for learning. PBIS is used in the classroom and implemented in non-classroom settings such as the hallway, buses, and the cafeteria. It is a proactive approach to establish behavioral support for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. At MGMS, PBIS is used to encourage positive behaviors in our building.

We will once again be implementing our PACK Card program this year at Mountain Green Middle School.  The PACK Card program played an important role in helping our campus work towards achieving our goal of setting clear social and behavioral expectations to create an exceptional learning atmosphere. We are extremely fortunate at MGMS to have such great students.  You will be getting more information about this program from our administrators.  I will also be discussing it with my class the first week of school.
